Nowadays, many children use computers every day for studying and entertainment. Some people believe that using a computer every day has more negative effects than positive effects on children. I disagree with this opinion, because I think the effects depend on how children use computers.
On the one hand, using computers every day can have some negative effects. Firstly, if children spend too much time in front of the screen, they may have health problems, such as eye problems, back pain and obesity, because they do not do enough physical activity. Secondly, some children become addicted to computer games and social media, so they do not focus on their studies. Thirdly, children may see harmful content on the internet, such as violence, or they may talk to strangers who want to hurt them.
On the other hand, computers also have many positive effects. Firstly, computers are very useful for education. Children can find information for their homework, watch educational videos and use learning apps to practise maths or languages. Secondly, using computers helps children to develop computer skills, which are very important for their future jobs. Thirdly, children can use computers to communicate with their friends and family, and to be creative, for example by drawing pictures, making videos or learning to code.
In my opinion, using computers every day is not bad for children if parents control the time and the content. Parents should set time limits, use parental controls and encourage children to do other activities such as sports and reading.
In conclusion, I disagree that using computers every day has more negative than positive effects on children. If children use computers in a sensible way, they can get many benefits.
