In many countries, people can get married at the age of 18. However, some people think that the legal age for marriage should be at least 21. I agree with this idea for several reasons.
Firstly, people at the age of 18 or 19 are often not mature enough to get married. At this age, many young people have just finished high school, and they do not have much experience of life. They may not understand the responsibilities of marriage, such as taking care of a family and solving problems with their partner. As a result, they may make wrong decisions and their marriage may not last long. For example, many young couples get divorced after a few years because they married too early.
Secondly, young people should have time to study and develop their careers before getting married. If they marry at 18, they may have to stop studying to work and earn money for their family, especially if they have children. This can make their life more difficult in the future. By the age of 21, many people have finished university or have a stable job, so they are more ready to support a family.
On the other hand, some people may say that 18-year-olds are adults and they should have the right to decide when to marry. This is true, but I think that marriage is a very serious decision, and waiting a few more years will not cause a big problem.
In conclusion, I agree that the legal age for marriage should be at least 21, because people at this age are more mature and more prepared for the responsibilities of family life.
