In some countries, more and more people have health problems because they eat too much fast food. Some people believe that the government should put a higher tax on fast food. I partly agree with this opinion.

On the one hand, a higher tax on fast food can have some benefits. Firstly, if fast food becomes more expensive, people may buy it less often and choose healthier food instead. This can help to reduce health problems such as obesity, diabetes and heart disease. For example, some countries have put a tax on sugary drinks, and people now drink fewer of them. Secondly, the government can use the money from this tax to pay for hospitals or to teach people about healthy eating.

On the other hand, a higher tax also has some problems. Firstly, it is unfair for poor people, because fast food is often the cheapest food they can buy. If the price increases, they will have to spend more of their money on food. Secondly, some people will continue to eat fast food even if it is more expensive, because they like the taste or they do not have time to cook. Thirdly, it is difficult to decide which food is fast food, because some fast food restaurants also sell healthy food such as salads.

In my opinion, a higher tax on fast food can help, but it is not enough. The government should also teach people about healthy food, make healthy food cheaper and control fast food advertising, especially for children.

In conclusion, I partly agree that the government should put a higher tax on fast food, but I think it should also use other methods to help people eat more healthily.

301 từ. So với bài 6.0: lập luận sâu hơn, từ vựng chính xác và đa dạng hơn, câu phức dùng tự nhiên hơn.

The growing consumption of fast food has been linked to rising rates of obesity and related health problems in many countries, leading some to argue that governments should impose higher taxes on such food. I partly agree with this view, as taxation can be useful but should be part of a broader strategy.

There are clear arguments in favour of taxing fast food. Price is one of the most important factors influencing consumer choices, so making unhealthy food more expensive is likely to reduce consumption. This approach has proved effective with tobacco and, more recently, with sugary drinks; after the introduction of sugar taxes in countries such as the UK and Mexico, sales of sugary beverages fell and many manufacturers reduced the sugar content of their products. In addition, the revenue raised could be used to fund public health campaigns or subsidise healthy food, helping to offset the costs that diet-related illnesses impose on health systems.

However, such a tax also has drawbacks. It would disproportionately affect people on low incomes, who spend a larger share of their income on food and often rely on cheap fast food because healthier options are more expensive or less accessible. In addition, defining "fast food" is difficult, as many unhealthy foods are sold in supermarkets rather than restaurants. Taxation alone may also have limited effect if people lack the knowledge, time or skills to prepare healthier meals.
