Nowadays, multinational companies and their products are becoming more and more important in most countries. Some people believe that this trend is seriously damaging our quality of life. I disagree with this opinion, although I think multinational companies also cause some problems.
On the one hand, multinational companies can cause some problems. Firstly, they can make it difficult for small local businesses to survive. For example, when a big supermarket or a fast food chain opens in a town, many small shops and restaurants may have to close because they cannot compete. Secondly, multinational companies may damage local culture, because people in many countries buy the same products and eat the same food. Thirdly, some companies pay workers in poor countries very low wages and pollute the environment.
On the other hand, I believe that multinational companies improve our quality of life in many ways. Firstly, they create many jobs. In many developing countries, such as Vietnam, companies like Samsung and Intel employ thousands of workers and pay them better salaries than local companies. Secondly, they bring new technology and skills to countries. Local workers can learn new skills and knowledge from these companies. Thirdly, consumers can buy many good quality products at cheaper prices, such as smartphones, computers and cars. This makes people's lives more comfortable and convenient.
In my opinion, multinational companies bring more benefits than problems. However, governments should control them carefully, for example by making laws to protect workers and the environment.
In conclusion, I disagree that multinational companies are seriously damaging our quality of life. Although they cause some problems, they create jobs, bring new technology and provide good products for consumers.
