Some people believe that businesses should hire employees for their whole working lives. I disagree with this idea. Although lifetime employment has some advantages, I think it is not suitable for most businesses today.
On the one hand, lifetime employment has some benefits. Firstly, employees feel secure because they know they will not lose their jobs. This means they do not need to worry about money and can plan their future, such as buying a house or having children. Secondly, employees who work for a company for a long time often become very loyal and work hard for the company. They also gain a lot of experience and knowledge about the company. For example, in the past, many Japanese companies hired employees for life, and these employees were very loyal and dedicated.
On the other hand, I believe that lifetime employment has more disadvantages. Firstly, if employees know they cannot lose their jobs, some of them may become lazy and stop working hard. Secondly, the business world changes very quickly, especially because of new technology. Companies need to be flexible and hire people with new skills. If they must keep all their employees for life, they may have many workers whose skills are no longer useful. Thirdly, when a company has financial problems, it may need to reduce the number of employees to survive. If it cannot do this, the whole company may close, and all the employees will lose their jobs. In addition, many young people today prefer to change jobs to gain different experiences and get higher salaries.
In my opinion, businesses should offer good working conditions and job security to good employees, but they should not have to hire everyone for life.
In conclusion, I disagree that businesses should hire employees for their entire lives, because it makes companies less flexible and may reduce employees' motivation.
