Some people believe that workers like nurses, doctors and teachers are not valued enough and should be paid more, while film actors and company bosses earn too much money compared with the importance of their work. I strongly agree with this opinion.
Firstly, nurses, doctors and teachers do very important jobs for society. Doctors and nurses save people's lives and take care of sick people every day, often working long hours and at night. Teachers educate the next generation and help children to become good citizens. Without these workers, society could not work well. However, in many countries, nurses and teachers earn quite low salaries. For example, many teachers in my country have to do extra jobs because their salary is not enough.
In contrast, some film actors and company bosses earn millions of dollars every year. Actors entertain people, which is nice, but their work is not as important as saving lives or educating children. Some company bosses earn hundreds of times more than their normal workers, which is not fair.
I think several criteria should be used to decide how much people are paid. Firstly, the importance of the job to society should be considered. Secondly, the level of education and training needed is important. For example, doctors study for many years, so they should be paid well. Thirdly, the level of responsibility and difficulty of the job should be considered, such as working long hours or in dangerous conditions.
In conclusion, I agree that nurses, doctors and teachers should be paid more. Salaries should be decided by the importance of the job, the training required and the level of responsibility.
