Many people believe that people today are under more and more pressure at work and therefore have less time to relax. I agree with this opinion for several reasons, although I think people can take steps to solve this problem.

Firstly, competition at work has become much stronger. Companies want to make more profit, so they expect their employees to work harder and achieve more. Many workers are afraid of losing their jobs, so they work long hours and do extra work. For example, in many big companies in my country, employees often stay at the office until 8 or 9 pm and sometimes work at weekends.

Secondly, technology has made it difficult for people to stop working. In the past, when people left the office, they could forget about work. Today, with smartphones and email, employees can be contacted at any time. Many people check their work emails in the evening, at weekends and even on holiday. As a result, they never really relax.

Thirdly, the cost of living is increasing, especially in big cities. People have to pay for housing, education and healthcare, so many of them have to work longer hours or even have two jobs to earn enough money for their family.

This situation has negative effects. People who work too much and do not have time to relax may feel stressed and tired, and they can have health problems such as headaches, sleep problems and depression. They also have less time to spend with their family and friends.

However, I believe that people can improve the situation. Companies should limit working hours and respect employees' free time, and individuals should learn to manage their time and make time for rest and hobbies.

In conclusion, I agree that people today face more pressure at work and have less time to relax, but both companies and individuals can take action to improve this.

It is widely believed that people today face increasing pressure at work and consequently have less and less time to relax. I largely agree with this view, as several features of modern working life have intensified workplace pressure and eroded leisure time, although the situation varies among individuals and can be improved.

The first reason for rising work pressure is increased competition. In a globalised economy, companies compete not only with local rivals but with businesses around the world, and they expect employees to be more productive than ever. Job security has also declined, as many workers are employed on short-term contracts or fear redundancy, so they feel obliged to work longer hours and take on additional responsibilities to prove their value.

Secondly, technology has blurred the boundary between work and personal life. Smartphones, email and messaging apps mean that employees can be contacted at any time, and many feel expected to respond to messages in the evenings, at weekends and even during holidays. As a result, even when they are physically away from work, they are rarely able to switch off completely.

Thirdly, rising living costs, particularly for housing and education in large cities, force many people to work longer hours, take on overtime or hold second jobs simply to meet their financial obligations.
