Some people believe that workers aged 65 or over should retire, while others think that they should be allowed to continue working. In my opinion, older workers should be able to choose whether to retire or to keep working, depending on their health and their wishes.
On the one hand, there are some reasons why people think older workers should retire at 65. Firstly, when older people retire, their jobs become available for young people. In many countries, youth unemployment is high, so this can help young people to find jobs. Secondly, some older workers may have health problems, and they may not be able to work as quickly or as well as before, especially in jobs that need physical strength. Thirdly, after working for many years, older people deserve to rest and enjoy their lives, for example by spending time with their grandchildren, travelling or doing hobbies.
On the other hand, there are also good reasons for older people to continue working. Firstly, many people aged 65 are still healthy and active, because people live longer today than in the past. Secondly, older workers have a lot of experience and knowledge, which is very valuable for companies. They can also teach and help younger workers. Thirdly, some older people need to keep working because they do not have enough money for their retirement. In addition, working helps older people to stay active, both physically and mentally, and to feel useful.
In my opinion, there should not be a fixed retirement age for everyone. People who are healthy and want to work should be allowed to continue, while those who are tired or unhealthy should be able to retire.
In conclusion, I believe that older workers should have the right to choose whether to retire or continue working at the age of 65.
