Nowadays, fashion trends change very quickly, and many people believe that they exist mainly to sell more clothes. Some people think that we should not follow fashion trends, and we should wear clothes that we like and feel comfortable in. I mostly agree with this opinion.

On the one hand, I agree that fashion trends are mainly created to sell clothes. Fashion companies introduce new styles every season, and they use advertisements, celebrities and social media to make people believe that their old clothes are out of fashion. As a result, people buy new clothes even when they do not need them. This wastes a lot of money, and many people, especially young people, feel stressed because they cannot afford to follow every trend. In addition, buying too many clothes is bad for the environment, because producing clothes uses a lot of water and energy, and many old clothes are thrown away.

Moreover, I believe that people should wear clothes that make them feel comfortable and happy. Everyone has a different body shape, personality and style, so not every trend is suitable for everyone. For example, some fashionable shoes are very uncomfortable to wear, but people still wear them because they want to look fashionable. Wearing what you like is a way to show your own personality.

On the other hand, following fashion is not always bad. Fashion can be fun and creative, and it can help people to feel confident. In some situations, such as job interviews or business meetings, people need to dress in a modern and suitable way.

In conclusion, I mostly agree that we should not follow fashion trends blindly. Instead, we should choose clothes that we like and feel comfortable in, and only follow trends that suit us.

Fashion trends now change so rapidly that many people find them impossible to keep up with, and it is widely believed that they exist mainly to boost clothing sales. Some therefore argue that we should ignore trends and simply wear what we like and feel comfortable in. I largely agree with this view.

There is considerable evidence that fashion trends are driven by commercial interests. The fashion industry, particularly so-called fast fashion brands, releases new collections every few weeks, and it relies on advertising, celebrity endorsements and social media influencers to persuade consumers that their existing clothes are outdated. This encourages people to buy far more clothing than they need, which can place a strain on their finances. Furthermore, this cycle of constant consumption has serious environmental consequences, as the textile industry uses vast quantities of water and energy, and millions of tonnes of clothing end up in landfill each year.

In addition, dressing according to personal taste and comfort is, in my view, more sensible and more authentic. People differ in body shape, lifestyle and personality, so a trend that suits one person may look or feel awkward on another. Some fashionable items, such as very high heels or tight clothing, can even be uncomfortable or harmful to health. Choosing clothes that reflect one's own preferences allows people to express their individuality rather than simply copying others.
