Some people believe that celebrities earn a lot of money because of media attention and they choose to live in the public eye, so they should not complain when the media invade their privacy. I partly agree with this opinion, but I think celebrities still have the right to some privacy.

On the one hand, it is true that celebrities benefit from the media. Film stars, singers and sports stars need the media to become famous and successful. When newspapers, magazines and TV programmes talk about them, more people know them, and they can earn more money from films, concerts and advertisements. Many celebrities also use social media to share their private lives with fans to become more popular. Therefore, they should accept that the media will be interested in their lives.

On the other hand, I think that celebrities are still human beings and they need privacy. Some journalists and photographers go too far. They follow celebrities everywhere, take photos of them at home or on holiday, and even take photos of their children. This can make celebrities feel stressed and unsafe. For example, Princess Diana died in a car accident when she was being chased by photographers. In addition, the children and families of celebrities did not choose to be famous, so they should be protected.

In my opinion, the media can report on celebrities' public activities, such as their work and public events, but they should not invade their private lives, such as their homes, health and family.

In conclusion, I partly agree that celebrities should accept media attention, but I believe they still have the right to complain when the media go too far and invade their privacy.

It is sometimes argued that because celebrities profit from media attention and have chosen a public life, they have no right to complain about intrusions into their privacy. While I accept that public figures must tolerate a certain level of scrutiny, I disagree that they forfeit all rights to privacy.

There is some justification for this view. Celebrities rely on publicity to build their careers, and media coverage brings them fame, influence and substantial income from films, music, sponsorship and endorsements. Many actively court attention by sharing aspects of their personal lives on social media or in interviews when it suits them. It could therefore be argued that it is inconsistent for them to welcome publicity when it benefits them but object when it does not.

However, choosing a public career does not mean that every aspect of a person's life becomes public property. Celebrities, like everyone else, have a right to a private life, including their homes, medical history and family relationships. Some media practices, such as photographers pursuing celebrities in cars, hacking phones or photographing them through windows, are not only intrusive but sometimes dangerous or illegal. The death of Princess Diana, who was being pursued by paparazzi, is a tragic example. Moreover, the families of celebrities, particularly their children, never chose to be in the public eye and deserve protection.
