My friend Anna, who lives in Australia, is planning to move to my city, Hanoi, for work next year. I think she will like many things about living here, but there are also some things that she may not like. In this essay, I will explain what she would like and dislike.
Firstly, I think Anna will love the food in Hanoi. There are many delicious and cheap dishes, such as pho, bun cha and banh mi, which you can buy on almost every street. Anna loves trying new food, so she will enjoy exploring the street food. Secondly, she will like the low cost of living. Rent, transport and food in Hanoi are much cheaper than in Australia, so she can save money and travel to other places in Vietnam at the weekends. Thirdly, I think she will like the friendly people and the interesting culture. Hanoi has many old temples, lakes and museums, and there are many traditional festivals, such as the Lunar New Year.
However, there are also some things that Anna may not like. The first thing is the traffic. There are millions of motorbikes in Hanoi, and the streets are very busy and noisy. During rush hour, there are often traffic jams, and crossing the road can be scary for foreigners. The second thing is air pollution. In some months, the air in Hanoi is very polluted, which is very different from Australia, where the air is clean. Finally, the weather may be difficult for her, because summer in Hanoi is very hot and humid, while winter can be cold and damp.
In conclusion, I believe that Anna will enjoy the food, the low cost of living and the culture of Hanoi, but she may not like the traffic, the pollution and the weather.
