Nowadays, travelling to other countries for tourism is much easier than in the past because of cheaper flights and the internet. In my opinion, although this development has some disadvantages, the advantages are more important.

On the one hand, there are many benefits of international tourism. Firstly, it helps the economy of many countries. When tourists visit a country, they spend money on hotels, restaurants and souvenirs, so local people can have more jobs and better income. For example, in Vietnam, many people in Hoi An or Da Nang earn money from tourism. Secondly, travelling helps people learn about other cultures. When people visit another country, they can understand the lifestyle, food and traditions of local people, and this can make them more open-minded.

On the other hand, there are also some problems. The first problem is pollution. More flights mean more carbon dioxide, which is bad for the environment. In addition, too many tourists can damage famous places, such as beaches and old buildings. Another problem is that local culture can change because of tourism. Some places become too commercial, and local people change their traditions to attract tourists.

However, I believe these problems can be solved. Governments can make rules to protect the environment and limit the number of tourists in some areas. Tourists can also be more responsible when they travel.

In conclusion, although easier international travel causes some problems such as pollution and damage to local culture, I think its advantages, like economic benefits and cultural understanding, are greater.

Thanks to cheaper air travel and easier access to information, international tourism has become far more accessible than it was a few decades ago. While this trend has certain drawbacks, particularly for the environment, I believe that its benefits outweigh them.

The most significant advantage of increased international travel is its economic impact. Tourism creates millions of jobs in sectors such as hospitality, transport and retail, and it is often a vital source of income for developing countries. For instance, in countries like Thailand and Vietnam, tourism contributes a substantial share of GDP and supports many small businesses. Furthermore, travelling abroad broadens people's horizons. By experiencing different cultures, cuisines and ways of life first-hand, tourists can develop greater tolerance and a better understanding of the world, which may help reduce prejudice.

Nevertheless, there are clear disadvantages. The growth in air travel has contributed considerably to carbon emissions, worsening climate change. In addition, popular destinations such as Venice or Bali increasingly suffer from overtourism, which leads to overcrowding, rising living costs for residents and damage to natural and historical sites. Some critics also argue that local traditions are being commercialised to cater for visitors.
