Some people like to plan their free time carefully, while others prefer not to make any plans at all. Both ways have benefits. In this essay, I will compare them and explain why I prefer to plan my free time.
Planning free-time activities has several benefits. Firstly, it helps people to use their free time well. Most people are busy with work or study, so they do not have much free time. If they plan, they can make sure they do the things they really want to do, such as meeting friends, playing sports or visiting family. For example, every Friday, I plan my weekend activities, so I can go jogging on Saturday morning and visit my grandparents on Sunday. Secondly, some activities need to be planned in advance, such as booking tickets for a concert, reserving a table at a popular restaurant or arranging a trip. If we do not plan, the tickets may be sold out.
On the other hand, not making plans also has benefits. Firstly, it is more relaxing. Many people have to follow strict schedules at work, so in their free time, they want to be free and do whatever they feel like. Secondly, not planning can lead to surprising and exciting experiences. For example, some of my best memories are of times when my friends called me suddenly and we went out together without any plans.
In my opinion, I prefer to plan my free time, because I have very little free time, and I want to use it well. If I do not plan, I often waste my weekend watching TV or using my phone, and then I feel regretful. However, I do not plan every minute, and I leave some time free for rest and unexpected activities.
In conclusion, both planning and not planning have benefits, but I prefer to plan my free time so that I can use it in the best way.
