Some people believe that machine translation is slower and less accurate than human translation, and that machines will not replace human translators in the near future. I partly agree with this statement.

Firstly, I disagree that machine translation is slower than human translation. Today, tools like Google Translate can translate a whole page of text in a few seconds, while a human translator may need several hours. In addition, machine translation is free or very cheap, so it is very useful for people who need to understand something quickly, for example when they travel abroad or read a foreign website.

Secondly, I agree that machine translation is often less accurate than human translation. Machines can translate simple sentences well, but they often make mistakes with idioms, jokes, cultural expressions and words that have many meanings. For example, if you translate a poem or a funny story with a machine, the result may sound strange or lose its meaning. Human translators understand the culture and the context, so they can choose the right words.

Thirdly, I think that machines will not completely replace human translators soon, especially for important documents. For example, legal contracts, medical reports and books need very accurate translation, because a small mistake can cause serious problems. However, machine translation is improving very fast because of artificial intelligence, so in the future it may become much better.

In my opinion, machines and humans will work together. Machines can do simple and quick translations, while humans can check and improve important translations.

In conclusion, I agree that machine translation is less accurate than human translation, but I disagree that it is slower. I believe that machines will not replace humans completely in the near future, but they will become more important.

283 từ. So với bài 6.0: lập luận sâu hơn, từ vựng chính xác và đa dạng hơn, câu phức dùng tự nhiên hơn.

It has been claimed that machine translation is slower and less accurate than human translation, and that machines are unlikely to replace human translators in the foreseeable future. While I agree with parts of this statement, I believe it underestimates the progress of machine translation.

Firstly, the claim that machine translation is slower is clearly inaccurate. Modern translation software can process thousands of words in seconds, whereas a professional human translator typically translates only a few thousand words per day. This speed, combined with the fact that many tools are free, has made machine translation an invaluable resource for travellers, businesses and anyone who needs to understand foreign-language content quickly.

However, I agree that machine translation is often less accurate than human translation, particularly for complex or creative texts. Language is full of idioms, cultural references, humour and ambiguity, which machines can struggle to interpret correctly. A human translator understands context, tone and the intended audience, and can adapt a text so that it sounds natural and conveys the intended meaning. This is especially important in literature, marketing and diplomacy.
